The plant is a complete line for insect breeding consisting of two
breeding paths that can be used alternatively or complementarily, as
well as a screening system and the initial module of food-safe
processing.
Breeding trail 1:
Crate-based cultivation system in a Kardex XP 700 storage lift system.
On 17 trays, 6 x 2 crates with a size of 80 x 60 cm or 5 x 2 crates
with a size of 80 x 80 cm can be cultivated per tray. The Kardex has
specially made ventilation shafts that ensure uniform ventilation of
all crates. The microclimate in the Kardex is regulated by a centrally
controlled automatic air conditioning system, which regulates
temperature and humidity fully automatically via a heat exchanger and
a steam plant.
For feeding, the crates are loaded manually onto a conveyor belt,
which then transports the crate to the feeding station. This consists
of a big bag unloader, a Gericke loss-in-weight feeder, a Bühler
preconditioner, an HSH vibratory chute and a Bizerba Busch continuous
belt scale.
Breeding Trail 2
A custom-made metal housing of about 6 cubic meters, which is equipped
with many plexiglass panes, has a large number of V-shaped metal rods
inside, which enable a good distribution of the larvae. The silo is
connected to a ventilation system. At its lower end there is a hopper
controlled by a hydraulic locking bolt. The material flows through
this onto a vibratory trough and then through a bucket elevator to an
automatic irrigation system and then back into the silo from above.
This circulation is carried out daily and thus enables feeding with
significantly less personnel expenditure than in breeding path 1.
Once the larvae have reached harvest maturity, the silo or crate
contents are fed into the screening system via the bucket elevator. A
slotted screen discharges larger agglomerates. Downstream is a sifter
with automated differential pressure control, at the lower end of
which is the branch for larvae to be harvested. They can be fed into
crates or into a spiral conveyor that is also available, and then go
directly to further processing. All the extracted material is conveyed
further by the air flow and divided into different fractions by
cyclone, filter and rotary valve.
For further processing of the harvested larvae, there is a food-safe
Brabender doser. According to this, e.g. an extruder or a spray dryer,
both of which are not part of this offer.
The manure fraction can be further processed by means of a Bühler
pelletizing press included in the range and sold in agriculture as a
fertilizer with a high nutrient content.
Automations still have to be programmed for parts of the system. We
can offer you this service. As well as help with dismantling,
rebuilding and training the personnel deployed in the future,
including the creation of written work instructions or video
tutorials.
