Safety: Safety concept according to the BG RCI checklist for
protective devices for the roll gap on old rolling mills (small
rolling mills D < 400 mm) of the rubber and plastics industry (current
version of 18.10.2018):
• Mechanically operated protective device with proximity reaction in
the form of a NEW safety cage over the roll gap
• Aluminium side panels; Stainless steel front flaps
• Two-piece, moving side plates with sheet metal to cover the gap
between the two plates
• Cage can be folded on both sides (monitored with magnetically
coded limit switches), incl. additional gas pressure dampers
• Safety edges (on both sides) for upper roll gap

• When the emergency stop is activated, the rollers stop (rollers

frequency converter and in the second stage by a spring-loaded brake
