Brand new machine for increasing intrinsic viscosity (I.V.) for external production in batches. The I.V. value of low-quality, very inexpensive rPET with low IV values of e.g. 0.3 dl/g is improved to the higher IV value of e.g. 0.76 dl/g with little effort. With another extrusion line for solid state polycondensation (SSP), a first-class rPET can be produced in accordance with the regulations of the F.D.A. (United States) A412615 and EFSA (EU). The indicated procedure enables cost advantages.
